With the increase in military veterans returning with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), in 2018 Canine Companions launched a pilot program to directly place service dogs with veterans with PTSD.

The First Congregational Church of Bay Shore provides Easter Baskets to all children of families that utilize the Community Food Pantry during its Easter Holiday hours. The Food Pantry is open Wednesdays and Saturdays at 11 am and is part of the Church's outreach programs.
